General Discussion / Re: Must-see movies list
« on: April 23, 2008, 05:04:46 pm »
I'm not a fan of retarded "funny" stuff, which is why I used to not like Jim Carrey or Adam Sandler. However, Eternal Sunshine (and The Truman Show) changed my mind about the former, and Reign over Me for the latter.

Both actors are good when they aren't cast in their stereotypical stupid "LAUGH BECAUSE ITS SUPPOSED TO BE FUNNY LOLO" roles.

PS Why don't we have the :downs: emoticons? I only see :saddowns:

Right now, only Cae, morgul, and myself can edit it - just post here and we'll stick your suggestions in.

General Discussion / Must-see movies list

From talking with Cae, it's apparent that there's a TON of movies that I need to see. So I started a google docs spreadsheet, available here. Feel free to post movies in this thread, and we'll add them to the list.

Thread title fixed.

Cae you're not supposed to discuss the fact that you have intimate relations...trust me...no one wants to know!

Actually, speak for yourself - I wouldn't mind hearing some more.

(I win most awkward response. Countdown till Cae one-ups.)

And e-hi5 whitelynx. :toot:

And here's the group. Join up!

=\
that really sucks.

They keep telling me to take mine out... But... no. haha

Well, I had to get mine taken out. They had bad cavities in them, to the point that I was getting BAD headaches (the kind that wake you up in the middle of the night).

Bonus for me: 2 days later I moved 300 miles!

Kinky.

Also - cplan, you might not post on the gorc forums, those that would be into it are over here already.  What I WILL do it toss a post into the h3ads section so the h3ads can get into it.

That works.

Chris, IM me when you get on, so I can get the info (description, etc.) right.

In the meantime, here's me. If you're interested, go here, download the client and sync it to WMP / Winamp / ITunes (and it integrates with your IPod! :clint: ) / whatever. That's it; just check in occasionally to see what people are playing. I've mainly been doing Hurt, Lacuna Coil, and Red Sparowes lately, for instance.

Actually, you'll find for the most part the GoRCers listen to all sorts of good stuff.  Piece loves AC/DC, Gun Slinger likes Lamb of God, I'm big into anything rock.  Music is one area you won't get any complaints from those gorc people that would sign up.

Kinda figured, but good to hear nonetheless. :-)

I am. However, GoRCers tend to be very Christian, so we'll get things like Skillet and Disciple interplexed with Nine Inch Nails, Alice Cooper, and SlipKnot. Fine for me, might not be so fine for the GoRCers. That's my only concern with the combined group.

Well, that's their problem, honestly. If they want to form their own group, awesome, but if that's their concern then I wouldn't be very welcome there either. But since the groups are related, and have several common members, and they're both pretty small, I figure it's better to have just one group than two. That's their call, and I'll post in the GoRC forums after I've made the group (assuming there's more interest here), unless Dawn or Cae has a problem with it.

It's not like we're making them listen to evil devil rock music, either - it'll just make it easier to find what people in the group are listening to, etc. I like it, and I like finding new music, so to me it seems like bringing this group into that is a logical next step.

And if anyone on my forums spams last.fm with backstreet boys, Celine Dion, or any other regurgitated monkey vomit, I swear to the Infernal God V'kryanoae I will remove your genitalia, and replace it with used hypodermic needles. I will then proceed to throw you into the middle of a masochistic communist buttfuck orgy with a sign that says 'Capitalist Pig' tattooed on your back, but I'm probably stretching the metaphor a bit.

Just a bit.

General Discussion / Any interest in a GNE Last.fm group?

Just looking through Last.fm, and was thinking we might try putting together a group for people on the forums and soforth. Probably also invite the GoRC people to join, since I don't see a point in having two small groups instead of one large one. Who's interested?

wait a sec...i just realized...i can't eat popcorn  :( it might get stuck in the holes where my wisdom teeth were and that would really hurt! :angryscream: why!?!?!?!?!

Owwww. How long ago did you have them taken out? And did they get all 4, or no?

At any rate, hope your recovery goes well.

Also, CK: Why are they using a blunted version of C++? If they're afraid of you blowing your leg off, then they should use a language like Java, C#, or Python, that prevents you from doing so, rather than a castrated version of a language in heavy use, since that sets up bad patterns for solving problems that may be alleviated by some of the other features of the language?

*Caenus smacks contingencyplan because he knows that Caenus is more likely to find it*

Where did I say that you, or anyone else, is not perfectly capable of finding it as well, much less make any comparisons of my ability with anyone else's? I only made a single absolute statement about my intentions to perform an action. So why, good sir, are you so egotistical as to infer that I was making some comparison with your ability, and thus feel the need to state that your ability to find the piece of data in question far outperforms mine?

O SNAP

Well, at this point I'm not exactly sure how much use I could be with coding; Resolve is basically C++ with half its operations taken out so we have to program in everything the long way.  I can still take a look at the Trac and GNE and try to figure it out on my free time, however.

My name is Ethan Perry Klein.
