You realize that the VP should ALWAYS be taken into consideration regardless of the age of the presidential nominee?

Anything could happen at any time to anyone in office.  A plane could go down, an accident could occur, someone could sit in a book depository with a high powered rifle, etc.

Seriously, as horrible as it is to speculate about this, I think there are too many ignorant people in the world and if Obama were to win the election, we're likely to see at least one if not multiple assassination attempts.  It's horrible, but it's the nature of the species.

McCain / Bush / Palin

What does Bush have to do with this?  He's on his way out.

You give me unlimited resources and a month, and this world will be vastly improved.  And no one would ever know we were there.   :ninja:

Why?  Do you have a valid reason or are you just spouting nonsense that's been force fed you by one camp or another?

That's almost as mindless and petty as claiming that if Obama gets elected we'll be an "Obama-nation".

It's people who promote thinking like that who make me want to scream.

I actually did get over there later, and it was in the process of being pumped out.  Didn't bother with a picture.  Sorry!

General Discussion / Torrential rains in the middle of . . . West Texas?
« on: September 12, 2008, 02:51:49 pm »
Yeah, last night it got so bad with the flooding that the mayor declared a state of emergency.  This morning, the rain stopped, and the roads are generally clear - however much of the city is still flooded.

Texas Tech University (my alma mater) is one place in this city that has ABSOLUTELY NO DRAINAGE SYSTEM.  I remember walking to class once after only an hour of rain and having to wade through 1.5 ft deep water.

Here are some pictures of the football field taken this morning.

I tend to avoid political discussions, but I guess I'll weigh in at least.

I personally distrust Obama.  I'm not one of those right wing NUTCASES like Ann Coulter who thinks that the liberals are a bunch of subversive communist hippie spies who are trying to overthrow the nation, but I can't see myself voting for the man.

He equivocates too often for my liking.

Now, I know many politicians hide behind smoke and mirrors on BOTH sides of the aisle, but when he's asked a controversial question he responds with "I don't think it's my place to answer that" or "That's above my paygrade".

It's not like he was asked "What would you enforce as national policy regarding this controversial topic?" he was simply asked to express his opinion.

Dodging questions like that irritates me to no end, because it makes me feel that I can't trust him.  He's going to do whatever's necessary to paint himself as being the best candidate for the job without actually revealing who we're ACTUALLY voting for.

That being said, I'm not all hugely enthusiastic about John McCain either.  This election feels very much like the 2004 election in that I felt that voting would be trying to cast a ballot for the lesser of two evils, neither of which I really wanted running my country.

And then I remembered that big business runs this country, not the government, and voted for whomever I agreed with on a personal level.

For me, that's typically the Republican party.  Although honestly, despite the historical significance of this election, I don't give a rat's ass who gets into the White House, and I don't think it'll matter all that much in the long run.

So you guys go have fun, vote for whomever you prefer.  I think I'll go to the movies and pump a little money back into the economy (that way I keep the big business owners happy and don't find myself in Gitmo  :tinfoil:).

Besides, with everyone standing in line at the polls, the theaters are bound to be less crowded than normal.

"I know where you live, I've seen where you sleep, and your Mother will cry when she's seen what I'll do to you."

You were close:

"Listen up you little spazoids!  I know where you live and I've seen where you sleep, and I swear by everything holy that your mothers will cry when the see what I've done to you."

Artwork / The Joker
« on: August 02, 2008, 07:49:19 am »
Hey guys, I know that a lot of people have been drawing The Joker since The Dark Knight came out, but this is one from a long time back.

If you want to see the work progress from pencil to ink to color, check my art blog.  Most of the pics I'll post on here are from there.

This one actually came out of a conversation with Contingencyplan - he said "You keep doing hereos . . . do a villain once in a while for us evil people!"

So I did.

 :clint:

Edit: okay . . . maybe this'll work.

Edit two: Okay, fine.  Fuck blogger and its "no direct linking" policy.

General Discussion / At the heart of the matter
« on: August 01, 2008, 10:18:00 pm »
Okay, general discussion is a good place to have some serious philosophical conversations.

So here we go:

It could be said that at the heart of every man is a deep and profound sense of fear.  This fear motivates everything that he does.  What fear drives you?  It isn't limited to a single fear, and you needn't worry about someone ridiculing you for posting.

Be honest.  Strip away everything that you hide behind, and tell me.  What frightens you?  Not things that go bump in the night, or heights, or spiders, or even Mickey Mouse.  But rather, the sense of terror that gnaws you beneath the surface.

I'll go first.

I fear failure.  Not failing something specific, but being a failure in the end.

There's 1.

Notice I said henchMEN not henchMAN.

Remember, when the end of days come, you guys will be my the captains of my evil minions.

But Trajan, what about my henchmen of doom?

It's not a good thing, and you shouldn't laugh and clap your hands like a retard who's just molested a cat.

40
And this is for the stuff that falls into the "stupid shit" subset of that larger category.
