Title: do you guys overclock?
Post by: Infernal on February 23, 2006, 09:51:18 pm
I haven't till now.  But since im building a new comp anyway I decided to try it out.   Its awesome! I have a crappy 200-230 mega herts graphics card (128 mbs) and i just clocked it up to 300 no problem, I can play games like bf2 now which I couldn't before.
Hehe, do any of you guys overclock?

I've OC'ed almost everything I own, including my wireless mouse. I normally don't. My desktop makes lead look unstable, and I like that. Sure, I could eke a few more FPS out of this beast... but that'a few more FPS. Nah, I'll upgrade first. And, like I said, this thing's a frickin' rock...

Oh, wait, the Ram's oc'ed, and the FSB is oced. I forgot about that. :P.

Still, I generally don't.... much.

Simply put, you OC the laser, and the transmitter. It's pretty simple... Just replace the right resistors, so you over voltage the transmitter, and replace the oscilator with a slightly faster one, put it back together, and pray. After my second attempt, the batteries drained in a few hours, but I could use the mouse while I was across the street, and it had some crazy resolution. Sure, it was useless as a mouse... but as a conversation piece it worked wonders!

And, Cae, I think we all need profesional help.
