Ok, here is my latest addition. I tried to make everything small, and transparent just enough to be able to see behind them. Tell me what you think:
-
Much better. See how much more you can see of the screen, and how that would definitely help you in a dogfight?
Personally, I'm not sure why, but the overall feel of the HUD just isn't "doing it" for me - they just seem too blocky and not sci-fi enough - but I don't have a concrete idea of what would. You might try plzying with some other graphical representations, if you want.
Either way, though, it's getting much better. Good job.

Tell me if this is any better, I tried to add some more details to make it look more scfi-ish:
-
Best one I've seen you do yet.
-
Random idea. Model a HUD in 3D studio, render it, and then do touchup in photoshop.
-
Zarkin' A!
If you don't get that, you suck.

Doesn't seem so random now, does it?

BTW if anyone (looks at contingency and caenus) of you wants to help me get crystal space on my comp and compiled I could (eventualy) re-do said post and fix it 3d.

Talk to contingency - I'm sure I could do it, but I have no prior experience in it.

Umm.. hold on. Let me explain something. CrystalSpace is the game engime... it's not a development tool for the art. It's not what you might be expecting.. it's simply a collection of C++ functions... no GUI or anything. You also don't need it for this... instead, get Blender (www.blender3d.org) and use that. We can export directly from Blender to a format that can be read in by the game. (well, with a plugin installed, but we'll figure that out once we get there.)

Ah, I see. The way it has been talked about in the past made it seem like it was the 3d studio. I guess I miss read it all. ok, I'll get right to work on that. (right after calculus)
