Did you mean "nacelle"? That's exactly what it is... an engine nacelle.

Is "Nacelle" a Star-Trek exclusive term, or is it an actual scientific term (and thus one we could use without problem)?

Last I was aware, nacelle is NOT a Star Trek exclusive term.
